Anyone else ever wonder where the word “necklace” came from? No? Well, you’ll find out anyway. The word necklace is a compound word that comes from a piece of lace being applied around the neck as a decoration. According to dictionary.com, the word “lace” originated from the French. Merci for the toast and the lace mes amis! I have a secret to share. I’m not wearing a necklace with my dress. The (maybe) seven people who have seen my dress on me (okay, so it’s probably more like 12, but that’s what I get for buying it with a group!) will totally understand why. The neckline totally doesn’t look right with one, so I decided to nix that and stick with earrings and a bracelet. And trust me, those lovelies can hold their own.
