Hey, y’all! We’re really (really, really ) proud to announce the redesign of our new Allens Boots website, which we hope will be your ultimate internet hang-out for any and all cowboy boots you’re considering adding to your collection. Forgive us if we’re being a little verbose and stumble-over-ourselves excited, but we’re pretty thrilled with how it all turned out. Let’s give you the old “nickel tour,” shall we? Heck, we’re feeling so generous, we’ll even offer a five-cent discount! Don’t let anyone tell you we’re not nice folks here at Allens Boots! What better place to start than the homepage? Right off the bat, we give you several options to pick what you’re looking for, whether that’s men’s, women’s, or children’s boots, cowboy hats, accessories, or western wear. Well, what else would you expect, right? After all, that’s what we sell! Let’s click on one of our options. Say we want men’s cowboy boots . Very well, then. We click on it, and we’re directed to a page with six different pairs of boots in the middle, and a sidebar with a bevy of search options. (Not every day you see “bevy” italicized, right? We like to go for the unexpected.) Now here comes the fun part: We want some Lucchese boots , so let’s click on that option in the sidebar. Bam! The boots in the main area of the page shuffle, and we’re left with only a selection of Lucchese boots to look at. We’re a size 11, so we’re going to go ahead and click on that and voila! We’re left with a selection of boots that fit us, right away. How else can we narrow down the search? Well, we’ve always been partial to brown boots, so let’s select that. At this point, we’re left with five excellent options, but we think the Mens Lucchese Chocolate Mad Dog Goat Boots just speak to us in that special place in our heart reserved for excellent footwear. Accoutrements is a French loanword basically meaning “associated accessories,” “paraphernalia,” or, more colloquially, “neat stuff.” That also does a good job of describing what Accoutrements Gifts offers! They specialize in making wacky, fun toys and gifts that have a distinctive look, style, and sense of humor. The stuff they make ranges from gag to great, but we like it all. They’ve been around since 1980, making new classics (“squirrel underpants,” anyone?) and updating old ones (like this deliciously retro, Western-themed mini bowling bag ). Our taste in cowboy boots runs pretty broad, as far as those things are concerned. There’s a simple reason for that: different boots for different occasions! Heck, two of the last three posts on this very blog focused on rugged, workmanlike Resistol boots and the haute couture stylings of the Diva by Lucchese line. Though you might feel more comfortable wearing the subdued Resistols day-to-day, sometimes you just want to cut loose and wear something a little more flashy (never mind that Resistols are for men and the Diva by Lucchese line for women…you get the point). Old Gringo boots , on the classic-classy spectrum, lie on the more fancy side of things. These are dancing boots if we’ve ever seen them. (Being from Austin, I can tell you we have.) Old Gringo Men’s Boots Old Gringo men’s boots are colorful, highly stylized and well-finished affairs, clearly designed to be eye-catching. But their excellence doesn’t just run skin-deep. Founded in 2000, Old Gringo has managed to marry a contemporary fashion sense to the time-honored tradition of boot-making. In a way, this commitment to quality design is similar to some of the more elaborate Luccheses, but in this case, the boots are a little more up-to-date, a little more eye-catching. They manage to do this without being unnecessarily loud. Old Gringos are nothing if not classy boots.

New Jewelry Designs – Midnight Mist Earrings

Good Monday Morning to Everyone! I trust and hope that everyone had a great weekend! My weekend was packed with a Intergalactic Bead Show on Saturday and Sunday was filled with the actual jewelry making from some of the great goodies that I found at the Bead Show! One design that turned out much better than I originally had expected was the Midnight Mist Earrings. Using links of sterling silver chain to create a ” tassel ” effect make a new, fun, as well as elegant addition to any one’s wardrobe! I will definitely be creating more designs very similar to this. Keep a look out for a matching necklace which is sure to be another wonderful addition to the fashion accessory wardrobe! Enjoy!
