Hi Gals! Did everyone have a nice Easter?  I did – spent it with the fam, the weather turned out to be beautiful – a tad windy for my skirt but it happens!  Did everyone out here on the left coast feel the quake?!  Wow!  We were at a family home that had a pool and you would have thought there was a wave machine installed!  My goodness! So – the lovely young lady across from me in my building just got asked to Prom, she is so excited.  It’s her first big dance and she is going with her friends to shop for the perfect dress.  She told me she wanted something “Vintage” so of course I perked up and thought of all the places I could tell her to pop into and all the 1928 collector pieces I could lend her and do you know what she said NEXT?!  “Um, you know – from the ‘80’s!” After I calmly picked myself off the floor and settled myself back on the chair, I proceeded to explain that Vintage, my darling young first-time Prom attendee is NOT the ‘80’s!  Vintage harkens back to a pure and lovely time.  Where women were WOMEN, where they wore ivory, eggshell, ecru, off-white (yes – these are all DIFFERENT colors).  Where jewelry was both delicate and ginormous.  Intricate and simple.  Architecturally fabulous.  NOT electrified by Neon and WHAM!  I shared some beautiful tear sheets with her of Vintage Chanel, YSL, Armani and Oleg Cassini and then we looked at some beautiful 1928 pieces she could purchase such as the 1928 Boise de Boulogne Etched Rose Earrings with the 1928 Bois de Boulogne Etched Rose Necklace or the 1928 Champagne Essence Topaz & Copper Chandelier Earrings with the Sahara Copper and Topaz Bracelet .  Yummy! Now – for you Neon Pretty, Pretty Princesses out there – here are some delish statement rings from 1928 just for you!  The Silver and Teal Blue Flower Ring , the Pretty in Pink Floral Bouquet ring and the Peachy Keen Flower Statement ring .  Something for everyone! Hello and Happy Passover and Good Friday week!  How happy was I when my fiancée surprised me with a Hello Kitty wearing bunny ears yesterday?!  The cutest thing!  I immediately pinned my – oh so sweet – 1928 Organic Pink Flower & Green Leaf Brooch on her and she was set! Speaking of 1928…BLING IT ON!  Have you seen their new rings?  I want to get one for each finger, and a new one for every day!  The “Pretty in Pink Floral Bouquet” ring that was featured on ellegirl.com, the “Golden Blue Beaded Floral Statement” ring , the “ Metallic Rose Cocktail” ring – wow I could go on forever!  This Sunday is Easter, of course – Happy Easter everyone!  Get on your finest!  It’s also – the Yankees against the Red Sox (Boo!) – I will be donning my pink & white Yankees jersey with my 1928 Papaya Fuchsia Pink & Rose Gold Copper Drops – GO YANKEES!  Dreamy Derek has to see us through yet again this year!  Crossing my blue and white fingers!    Hey – you know they’ll be in LA this June…LA LA LAND won’t know what hit ‘em.  Get it?!  HA!  So fill your eggs and baskets with gorgeous goodies from www.1928.com !  Hope the Bunny’s good to you!  Ciao for now – ShareThis

Hi gals – and how was everyone’s Oscar Sunday?!  Was the carpet not fabulous?!  So much to say, where to begin – how about with Zoe Saldana’s Boysenberry piñata dress ?  She looked like a fancy feather duster!  Offset that bottom heavy hitter with the 1928 Morado Amor Flower necklace next time girl!  Courtesy Getty Images  Gabourey Sidibe looked AMAZING, just one little thing missing; a 1928 Midnight Blues Fantasy Floral Necklace !  All JLO needed with her amazing dress was the 1928 Bridal Art Deco Revival Eternity Necklace !      Blue and white/nude/blush were the popular color palettes of the evening.  Avatar Shmavatar!  Kathryn won – awesome – and how fab would the 1928 Art Deco Revival Eternity Brooch be on her little satin clutch?!  Magnifique!    Let’s talk about the guys.  Yawn.  George, I love you but you always look the same.  Taylor Lautner – not sure what you were even doing there but you have looked the same this entire Awards Season!  How about one of the 1928 Crimson Gardens Leafy Drop earrings tucked into the top of your bowtie?  Pinned to your pocket which was missing a pocket square…   As I journaled last week, my Griffy was the best dressed boy in his Fabulous Filigree Burnished Copper Tone Bracelet .  If only he could have strolled the red carpet, what a sight he would make!  “Papa – Paparazzi!”   I’m thrilled the big blue behemoth didn’t take Best Picture.  Too commercial, too stop-motion, acting my beloved audience is what earns you an Oscar.  Look at Mo’Nique, not the hair – the actor – now that was an Oscar-worthy performance!  However, in place of that garden growing out of her head – a nice 1928 Silver Tone Filigree Blue Butterfly Barrette would be a beautiful touch – just a thought.   Loved, loved, loved Steve and Alec  – they looked handsome and were hilarious.  Just the right note to the looooooong evening (thank you Tom Hanks for abruptly ending the madness!) and don’t get me started on Doogie Houser opening the show.  He didn’t need anything!  Can you say “sequin explosion?!”  Someone owns a bedazzler !
