I am LOVING my latest design – so much that I think I’m keeping this prototype for myself! Pearl Cluster Ring / Necklace It started out as a pendant, using one of my handmade argentium silver rings. I took a selection of pearls in a neutral fall palette of colors, and wired each one individually on handmade fine silver head pins into a cluster. As I was photographing my new pendant on a chain, I noticed that it was the perfect size for my ring finger – and the cluster looks fantastic as a ring.

Margie Deeb has a brand new color report out and ready to rock and roll.  “Subtle contrasts” are the catch phrase for the fall/winter palette for 2009.  Margie discusses the top Pantone colors that will be found in clothing this fall, based upon Pantone’s survey with Fashion Week insiders. The main section of Margie’s report takes each of these ten directional colors and provides a report on Delicas and Swarovski beads that represent each.  She then provides several suggested palettes for using that color, including color schemes that will delight both the classic and the avant garde among us.   I was particularly interested in the palettes she came up with to feature Warm Olive, not a color I especially like.  But I liked the palettes, so go figure! Project Runway , Season 6, Episode 6: Lights, Camera, Sew! Who’s the winner this week and who is “auf”? Create a character based upon a given film genre…what a great challenge!  Now all the designers who tend to go over the top will have a really good reason to do so.  Unfortunately, a few fell far short, but there were an awful lot of great designs this week.  Glad I wasn’t a judge…I would have had a terrible time picking between Christopher, Epperson, and Nicolas’s designs.
